Types of behavioural issues

These type of issues tend to concern habitual behaviour where the individual has historically behaved in a particular way for a long period of time and requires assistance to develop more appropriate behaviour. Such issues can include habits, addictions and compulsive behaviour.

Imagine a cornfield which you have walked through many times.  Over a period of time  you have walked the same route  and a clearly marked pathway becomes formed, there is a clearing in the corn which is quite visibly the route to take.  Behaviour can be seen quite similar to this scenario,  in that when we consistently behave in the same way a  pattern is established which we follow each time we find ourselves in a similar situation. Much of our behaviour is governed by our beliefs, beliefs about our environment, capabilities and expectations. These beliefs which are often deep routed need to be addressed in order for our behaviour to be adapted. Using hypnotherapy we work with clients to redefine beliefs and form a new route in the cornfield (a new pattern of behaviour) that is appropriate to the situation, whilst the old route in the cornfield grows over, almost as if it had never been there in the first place. As hypnotherapy works at a subconscious level these changes can sometimes appear to happen almost automatically and require little or no conscious effort.
